Hey, SMF For Free, i think that you should have people activate there forum by checking htere email, in which they would click a link that would activate there forums, instead of people creating a forums, and not using it ... then most people wont get the names they want

Thanks

I have to agree with this, when someone makes a forum it is required that they give en email, instead of nothing coming from that, I think that it should require they activate the board.

Great suggestion in my opinion. :)

Creates an extra hassle though. They have to first get the email. Then click the email. Might stop people from using the forum.

Yea but it would make sure that people weren't making forums and then just leaving them.

Maybe to change this suggestion a little bit, could you make it so if no one logs in for say... A month, it sends the root administrator saying their forum is going inactive, and they have to click a link confirming that their forum is active, if they dont, its marked as inactive and can be deleted to save some space. ;)

With all the reports we get from those using hotmail/msn and sometimes yahoo mail that they never recieve notifications or activation notices this idea would be a huge headache

true, but it would still help out, so if people want a name and it isnt available because somebody that created a forum and doesnt use it, has the name...
