it would be nice if we had the option to place it on main index page of our forum

I think you meant on the main index page only?   (given other threads here)

Ive asked SMF about that and  am not sure if it is somethng he would be able to do. 

As EzPortal works now you can not set blocks up to show with the forum and not show on other areas of the forum.
You can choose what areas of the forum you want them to show on, but main index is not a choice.   It would be super if he could do that, I agree.

maybe you could put a code in the baord description to hid eit perhaps?  Someone might be able to make one.  If you put it in every board, it would be like that.
