Email V
« on: November 29, 2008, 07:47:16 am »
I personally think it would be cool to be able to make your own SMF email. This would come in handy, because if you wanted to ban someone or mute them, or just plainly give them another chance, you could email them with an SMF email like: Administrator@yourSMF.com. This would make it pretty cool, and also, most other free hosting sites have them too. If you cannot make an email, it doesn't really matter, it was just a cool idea by me :P

Thanks,

The ability to "mass" email members was disabled a very long time ago and no there is not an option to email one member.

You could however create an email account thru gmail, etc..  put your members email addresses in it  (yes i know its time consumiing but once there they are there)  and use that to email them if you need to and do not want to use the forums Announcement feature.

My advice:
Register a domain with co.cc (its free) linking pack to your site. Sign up there!
Now go to http://www.google/a and sign up, after you have done that activate email. From there you get a code you have to link back to google. CO.CC does this for you! Log into co.cc and GOTO manage domain. There should be "google email" just insert the code and your done. You now have admin@yoursite.co.cc
