a rules section
« on: October 10, 2006, 03:10:38 pm »
i tink you should add a rules section in with the top bar (the bar with profile, help, portal ect. in) admins could edit the rules in this vis the admin panel

this would mean rule of the sites woiuld be accessable when you are posting instead of just having a thread for it

wat you guys gink.

Actually well...it's not a bad idea. Like a button up there that says rules? Admins defines the topic ID of the rules.

Sounds easy in theory, I wonder how easy it would be to implement.  ;) ;) SMF

If not...uh...you could always stick something in your news/footer about it.

Well, it all sounds easy but it involves all kinds of code we don't even know about I'm sure.

And footers work with all other themes now. ;) So you could do that

Actually its not a bad idea at all.  Maybe SMF can come up with a mod for that.
People see the forum rules section but do not always read it

edit:

In the meantime there are other options.

If you have your banner in the HEADER area.   Place a link to the rules underneath the banner so it is easily seen there.
or
Place a link to the rules in your news box.
