'soft deleting'?
« on: October 01, 2006, 12:16:00 pm »
When a moderator deletes a post does it just disapear entirely?  Or can it be made that the admin or global moderator have to approve it goes for good?
If not, how about the idea?

I like the idea.

However, what about the recycling bin thing? Unfortunatly for the bin it doesn't quite have a "restore" button though. However juding by the title of the post and number you could put it back if you needed to.
Serves the same purpose...in a slower kinda way.

Have a recycle bin board and let only let you only see it. In edit features and options at bottom without expanding other things there should be have a recycle bin board and choose the recycle bin board. Then when anything dissapears it will go to the recycle bin and move&merge  ;D

Wha?

You just goto Edit Features and Option and enable Recycled topics board. Then set the "secret forum" in the drop down menu.

No problem. Enjoy that

Now you can feel safe ;)
Just don't let your mods or anyone allowed to see it. That way if you do have a crazy mod he can't delete everything in there too.

Another Suggestion is to put your recycle bin in your admin panel if you have one or make a board only admins can see incase you want to restore a deleted post.
Also if you restore one, you can edit the topic icon back to the original instead of the recycle icon

If you make a board in you forum and dont mark any permissions you will have a admin only board....
I have a board on the forum and just  move any unwanted posts to it....
Its very handy as you only have to move topic or merge posts and its done.......
Its a lot handier than going to the C/P all the time.........
