However the redirects can be a little disappointing sometimes.

You have two choices. Cloaking or not cloaking as to how it redirects.

With cloaking there's no way for a typical user to find out what webpage they are on. The URL will always be www.____.co.nr(or whatever) So if somebody refreshes they won't end up at the same page though.

Without it people will go to the .co.nr then suddenly they end up with the longer subdomain.smfforfree.com URL. Could be a little confusing to some.

i prefer non cloaking because if the members like a page and want to link to it or even refresh or revisit that page so theyll be more confused. its better not to cloak.

and some redirects give u a mail box too like HGage@deathzoneforums.net.tc and the actual URL: www.deathzoneforums.net.tc

I tried url redirection and it messed up the cookies and I couldn't log in to my forum, so I had to go back to using the regular smfforfree3.com sub domain. Anyone know why it did that?

i bought a domain name from freewebs.com and they host my website for free, and on my website i link to my smfforfree board... if you get a premium service you can get e-mails like your wanting, and some extra accounts to give to your admin too if ya want to.  ;D

We bought our domain name and have a redirect to our SMF forum, and don't have any problems with it.  We got ours from Bravenet.com and are getting free hosting.  I think we got the domain name for like $16 for two years.  You can also set it up as a main page with lots of information about your SMF forum and of course put a link to your SMF forum.
