Title: [Code] Double click dictionary!
Post by: Celebrus on January 26, 2008, 07:54:13 am
I didn't make it, I rather found it, lol. It's a neat trick. Go to http://inheritance.smfforfree3.com (http://inheritance.smfforfree3.com) for a preview. Double-clicking any word will cause a window to pop up with the word's definition.

Does not require jQuery.
Headers:
Code: [Select]
<script src="http://www.websters-online-dictionary.org/js/define.js" type="text/Javascript"></script>
Footers:
Code: [Select]
<div class="tborder"><div class="windowbg"><center>Double-clicking any word will pop out a window with it's definition. Click <a href="http://www.websters-dictionary-online.org/searchbox.asp">here</a> to learn how to do that.</center></div></div>

The footers thing is optional but I'd prefer it if you use it. It will tell your members about the dictionary and also give credit to the right party.

Now that is pretty nice, but I hope it is only me that's slow this am.  Good find, Omikron.

I kinda wish I could make something like that lol. The code ain't that long either, so it won't hog as much bandwidth as I thought it would. In fact, it's only about as large as UserPage.
