SMF is in PHP, CSS, and HTML if you want to be exact. :P

Actually, the SMF Download includes php, css, list, htaccess, gif, txt, js, xml, gdf, ttf, sql, and 3 readmes, one in shtml, the other two html.
But none of the actual programming is html. The html topics are actually part of index.php and are just in the URL form of SEF.

PHP is the syntax that controls the function of the forum, HTML controls how it looks on your browser (like the bare bones), and CSS colors/styles the page correctly (like the clothing on the bones, etc).

actually PHP can operate completely without HTML.
