If a member puts up an inappropriate post or avatar, is there a way for the admin to delete it?  I tried to find any such option under 'Admin' but couldn't.  Any suggestions?

I don't think there's a way to move a link from one category to another...not that I know of anyway. The only thing I can suggest is to copy and paste the link into the category that you want to move it to.Then delete it from the original category. If you find a way to move them, please let me know. 8)

Thanks again Gordie! That sounds perfect ..  :)

To add a link, click on the "link" button on your forum (not in admin cp).If you scroll down to the bottom, there's a place there to add category, add link, approve links,etc...
You have to be logged in with your admin username to see it!

Thanks Gordie.  It seems to be coming ok, so far .. quite similar to adding links in MSN blogs.
BTW, is it possible move a link from one category to another?

I'm learning about Links from SMF Tutorials.  Most issues are explained well and in detail.  However, I'm unable to locate any explanations or procedures for adding the Link itself.  Please help me out.

Wha? I don't fully understand.

What do you mean by no code is availible?

LOL ..

Sorry .. I know I can be quite unclear many a times.

Well, what I mean is, the other day I tried to put the SMF banner and the code for it was given.  I copied and pasted it.  It came fine.  Similarly, I've checked some banner exchange sites.  They've all given their banner codes for copy and paste.  And of course, I don't have any knowledge of HTML codes.  So, if I want to put a banner of my own choice by creating it myself on Word or simply selecting some image from the web, how do I upload that as a banner in my forum?  While editing 'Header' there's no 'attachment' button there.  Or is there some other method of putting a banner on the forum?  Can't figure out ..

Copy & paste of the HTML code of a banner in 'Headers' makes it appear on the homepage.  But how do I put a picture banner (not text) if no code is available?  Supposing, I want to make my own banner on Word and then upload it in my forum.  Will that be possible?  If so, please advise how.

Hmmm .. actually I'm still in the process of studying about Links in SMF tutorials.  Do these categories & links appear on the frontpage of forums?  If I am exchanging links with another site, do I enter the link of that site in my forum thru this process?  I feel a bit confused about it at the moment.

The following link exchange site says that they have 52 websites.  If someone puts all those 52 links in their webpage or forum, they will put the link of that forum or webpage in all their 52 sites.

http://www.linklots.com/

But isn't adding 52 links in your forum too much! ?

]

The best way to do that is leave a link at a high traffic site and youll get a much better result than submitting it.

Can you please provide some more details on this method of promoting a forum?  Like, what steps need to be taken to leave my forum link at another site .. ?

Well you can stubmit a sitemap to google using the following url
http://yourforumname.smfforfree.com/sitemaps/sitemaps.php

Or a yahoo feed list by doing
http://yourforumnam.smfforfree.com/sitemaps/urllist.php

This lets the search engines find the content on your website. Your forum needs to have open acces to public in order for this to work

Are there any initial procedures for enabling access to public so that search engines find the contents of my forum / website?
