smf for free...this is the same forum i had mentioned to you about a while back, where a member bragged about findin a site which hacks into smf admin....this is a disturbing thought.....and i guess that is why the question as to whether its a glitch...a hickcup in yer system.....this i find hard to believe that it could be a glitch...since it was a board listed in which she herself had to manually delete.

i was in a forum one time that a situation arose between 2 members about pms... it had gotten so bad...one member asked the owner to view their pms  at which time they gave their passwerd etc.  PMs are private...as so called...and the only way someone can see them is if you  show them....either by copy n paste ( which can be altered if being used to "prove" something can be what crasy had said...you need to know the member to trust the veracity.) or by given the person access to the account...which can end a very much heated situation....but many admin will not do.

i changed my username at my friend's forum and it dint send me a mail sayin my passwrd has changed! :o

now i cant log in!

i had this happen at my forum.....the addy you had in your profile...was it exactly correct???  i would suggest you use an other workable e mail account...get the admin to change the email in your profile to the new one...then get them to click on name change once again, then the e mail will be sent out.  remember that hotmail addys..all forum e mails go to the junk, so check there.  this is how we corrected a member of mines  name change problem

on the second post he answered it...its the same as your question...is a back up possible...

Base price is $20 plus $1 per 100 posts.

So if you have a forum with 1000 posts total cost would be $30.

SMF For Free

as was stated above...yes  fer a price.....to me thats no freebee for back up  you pay for that.
