You would have to talk to Simple Machines to do that, sibyl. Not even forums hosted on your own server can do that.

If I get any ad free credits (earn them from the TOS Violations), and have enough, would I be able to redeam them for a reduced rate for backing up my forum?

How much would it cost to back up my forum?

Ok, first off, you are missing a bracket after the background-image tag. As for why it works only for the top, that is because you have it set on repeat-x (repeat horizantally) and it is positioned in the top left (so it will repeat acrossed the top). What you need to change in the CSS is:
background-position: (you do not need this)
background-repeat: repeat (I think. Sibyl, correct this if it is wrong)
That about summs it up. It should work now.

What I would like to see on SMF For Free (if you have time, oh, this rhymes! 
):
The news bar (under the avatar box) under one ID
The new post/no new post icons + text under one ID
A way to change the color of the navigation tree (right now, I had to remove it on my test board, as I can't see it)
A way to seperate the ads from my shout box (I would not delete them, just move them out of the table the shout box is in)
These would help me with making many styles! As of now, this is all I can think of. Thanks!
