Thank you...I followed your instructions and my name still appears in red at the bottom of the front page...I even cleared the cache in my browser and still see my name at the bottom of the front page. Will others still see it ?

How do I  stop members from knowing I am online...in my forum. When I log in my name appears at the bottom of the front page...So how to appear as if I am not there ?

Thanks for the help Sybil and thanks for resizing the animated gif for me :)

I have uploaded the gif resized and it appears not to be animated on my site

Also the size seems less than the 100 x 100

I am perplexed  :(

The image seems to work fine on this site though. It is animated and appears to be 100 x 100 hmm.

I think I may just have to settle for what is provided by way of avatars on the site itself.

Oh okay I have figured it out you cannot upload an avatar from you hard drive to the forum. It wont work if it is an animation

You have to upload your animated avatar to a file storing service like imageshack or filelodge. Get the URL

then go to your profile then from profile information and put the URL in there.  ::)

Only prob I have now is the Size it is not 120 x 120 like it is supposed to be, but much smaller drat  :tickedoff:

especially in my forum.

Yes thats strange mine is supposed to be a gif file yet the smoke on the gif is not moving. I will upload it as an attachment and see if it works.

Okay how come the gif works as an attachment and not in the profile pic ?
