and with that goblin felt he was among friends now, saying "...I will go slowly on your forum humans, it's just that always try to make my posts somewhat inconspicuous, drab, and above all without the slightest intention of seeming to come across as utterly attention seeking in some way...", and with that the lie detector exploded, whereupon the goblin just added "...well yes, it's just that to date, I've have not been very good at it..."

"...oddly I go there to that lupusbots site for their vibe of support still, where if they can live on then there's no reason why I can't post on too..." replied the
goblin adding "...yes I remember it as while it was still running as a forum, so it's like when one goes into a church and feels in the presence of something one can't explain in words...", "...so why are you trying to explain it here goblin if you know you can't explain it in words really..." asked the slot inquisitively, to which the goblin just looked down at his hands again, then back at the slot smiling "...because if one does anything for no motive whatsoever, nor even for some reason really, then that perhaps is just your nature there, so I live on and they're my ghosts today, but they feel real enough, guess that's all I suppose, ah but in a life that passes by isn't that everything too..."

"...years on, and I kind of got famous through posting across forumland..." related the goblin as penniless as ever though, then adding "...but there's a knack to it now, I mean most folks won't read those books anymore, instead they'll gladly read some short interactive content if it relates to what they're actually interested in...", at which point the goblin then wondered if anyone sane ever read this far, asking "...no, you have read this far have have you, good, because SMF forums, which is short for save muchkinland forum I imagine, has certain writing standards to maintain here...", and with that the goblin was off to do the rounds again

General Support / Re: THANK YOU!
« on: January 23, 2016, 07:37:20 am »
(The goblin too wished to express his gratitude, saying "...I love my secluded forum, I have four or five thousand posts there by now, so it would have been a big loss to me had I lost them suddenly...")

5
("...I would like to thank smf for the use of my forum till now, I just hope that I could have my writings that I stored on my forum, about 4000posts, I feel like I have lost everything now..." ventured the goblin sharing in everyone's sadness at the course of events)

"...pleased to meet you both then..." went the goblin now, adding "...me, I do whatever, whenever, and wherever too, but post as I may, and however many times too for that matter, forumland always just seems endless, where the only constant here is this post by post journey to self then, for simply one becomes ones posts and oneself is reflected back by it, where perhaps "I think therefore I am" is replaced by "I post therefore I am reflected" here..."

General Chat / Re: Need help, with suggestions.
« on: January 24, 2011, 08:35:09 am »
"...no no no human, you have run a forum as if no one will visit it, so you make the forum your home first, keeping it secret to avoid either the riff-raff or those spambots form turning up..." mentioned the goblin now, adding "...and then, once your forum is sweet, you do the rounds on forums without any cheap poaching intention but just noting who posts what, then after you have been friends long enough to know if the person meets your benchmark, just invite him or her in secretly...", in fact, the goblin often saw that those people who rushed to create their forum with lots of effort and high expectation, simply gave up after a while through either boredom or lack of membership, he was suggesting a long term approach here

"...me, I'm just conquering forumland in posts..." replied the goblin honestly, adding "...where I am often frustrated in my efforts, yes but never bored at the results....", in fact, the goblin liked linux for it anonymity, saying "...so what type of nerd are you now, pleased to meet you here anonymously..."

General Discussion / Re: Tips to Promote your board.
« on: January 24, 2011, 05:51:07 am »
"...the best way to promote your forum and to become known on forumland as a livewriter, or whatever you would term someone known for their posts then..." mentioned the goblin, adding "...in fact, nothing tells a poster more about what he or she can expect than seeing a dull post linking whatever, whereas if your posts are inspiring, they will simply google your username and find you even without adding a link...", in fact, what the goblin had forgotten to add, was that it was best to have a unique username, and an evident persona, so the goblin just smiled, saying "...this way, any post you do anywhere draws people towards you without even thinking about it..."

General Discussion / Re: How did you find SMF For Free?
« on: January 24, 2011, 05:37:47 am »
"...well, usual stuff there was this light in the sky..." replied the goblin trying to remember now, adding "...and then, after being whisked up inside, there were this bunch of aliens giving SMF forums some to sales pitch for humanity's sake as the last hope against mindless facebook now, and of course I didn't believe a word of it, knowing that those on facebook became illiterate, yes, but those on SMF mostly went mad now, leaving the only question of which was better then...", but that, like his sanity after all these posts seemed long ago now

the goblin here, had to confess that he had landed here from elsewhere, saying "...well, I can't for the life of me understand it then, I mean I set the coordinates for "intellectually awe inspiring writer's forum for old farts please" and just landed up here instead, oh well mishaps do happen I suppose..."

General Chat / Re: So quiet across the boards
« on: June 23, 2010, 01:01:02 am »
the goblin showed, explaining "...the real problem is finding a busy forum, in that most members like to be with other members, and yet, how is anyone ever going to know where those forums with many members are where most forums owners don't like one asking that question, simply it's easy to find SMF startup forums, and very hard to find their established ones now...", in fact, the goblin thought that as half the problem, the other half being the poster's lack of incentive to post, the goblin explained that too, saying "...in my view, most people mean well and post for other people's sake, or for the forum itself, which we know is unsustainable in the end because it's just charity posting so to speak, whereas they should be posting for themselves, totally selfish because those type posters are the ones that are both unstoppable and improve over time with practice..." continuing "...conversely, another problem is too many forums for too few members, in that everyone seems to want to be admin now, they wait for other to turn up, and then everyone waits for others to turn up, so everywhere goes quiet..."

General Chat / Re: let me join your forum MYAHAHAHA
« on: January 09, 2010, 05:34:36 am »
"...I have replied to your PM now, and as happy to repost both your PM and my reply here..." mentioned the goblin, adding "...I clearly apologize here too, and have withdrawn those posts which you deemed spam there then, simply if a site, or a member for that matter, feels that his efforts are wasted then a clean cut is called for, your site is spamless now, and I have enough "last post" threads to be getting on with too, we should both be happy then, should we not...", but that was life, the internet was a learning curve, and posting was ever that "journey to self" now

General Chat / Re: let me join your forum MYAHAHAHA
« on: January 08, 2010, 03:38:52 pm »
"...thank you for having accepting me on your football forum, even for the short while you did..." replied the goblin cordially at this point, continuing "...it is only that I now see the error of my ways, and agree entirely with the comments posted both before and when the thread got locked by you, fortunately the other admins that PMed me to join their sites, have neither locked the thread, nor addressed my posts as spam, so your "last post" thread is now spamless in my view, nothing personal then, it just didn't work out here, that's all, and the loss of a few spam posts on your site makes no difference, so my search continues elsewhere then, as does yours I imagine..." in fact, the goblin still held the site in the highest respect

General Chat / Re: let me join your forum MYAHAHAHA
« on: January 07, 2010, 03:29:08 pm »
"...that's the spirit..." replied the goblin, adding "...who else will let me start a "last post" thread on their site then, I am quite normal now...",
