Thanks for the info and update SMF.  Hopefully we will all be back up and running soon without any more problems.  I really do appreciate all you do for all of us.  SMFForFree is the best there is, I wouldn't even think of going with anyone else.   ;)

Thank you SMF.  Seems that they have had to reboot the server many times since you changed.  Do you think this is going to be an on-going problem with them or what?  You know I don't complain and totally understand glitches and problems, but this is like the 3rd or so time since you changed.  Just curious.  :smitten:

There are several providers that recycle the IP's.  This is not uncommon and not a big thing to worry about.

This could be related to all the servers having problems this morning.  Not for sure, but I would say that is the most logical reason.  Try a little later, when the server problems have been fixed.

Elite, sorry you are having the problem so soon.  These things do happen, not often, but they do happen.  All web sites have problems at times.

Just be patient and SMF will get on and fix ASAP.

Be patient.  SMF will fix as soon as he can.  It seems to be across all servers.

Same here.   From the looks of it, it is affecting all the servers.  

Please be patient, I am sure SMF is on top of this and all will be fixed ASAP.

Clairebear and Dalez, I can get on both of your sites. 

Dalez, on the flushdns, did you

type in ipconfig/flushdns?

Here is the full instructions for doing the flushdns...

Start > Run > type in cmd.exe
Click OK
Type in: ipconfig /flushdns
Hit Enter:
Wait for the response
Type EXIT to exit the command prompt

Decoy, it loaded for me.  Be patient, there will be times, possibly, that it will be up and down until everything is moved to new server.

There is nothing more you can do besides being patient and waiting.  Once all is moved to the new server, things will settle down and start working right.

Anything seriously wrong, SMF will fix.

While SMF is still transferring other forums, there might still be some down time.  Once everything is moved, things will straighten out.  It takes any where from 24 to 48 hours for all to settle down and catch up.  Patience is the key word here.

If you can email or call your members, that might be a good idea, just to alert them of the time frame here.

I have been through server changes with SMF before and all turns out good.  If there are any serious problems, it is good to let SMF know and he will fix ASAP.  He is great about taking care of all of us.

I totally agree.  Thank you SMF for all you do for us.  I have been through a few server changes with you and all has always worked great.  You are always looking out for your forums and their members.  I wouldn't use anything else and I have tried them and there is nothing that compares to SMF.

Thought I would Bump this.  Crasy posted this way last year and it does help sometimes.  SMF finished with my server this morning and I used it.  I can get on my forum with FF, but still waiting for IE to catch up.

This is from another thread here on SMF.  It worked for me.  Well with FF, I am still waiting for IE to catch up.

If you wish to try to get on sooner (after the move is completed) you can try to flush the dns manually
There is no guarantee this will work. Note: Will not work on Win98, Win98SE

Start > Run > type in cmd.exe
Click OK
Type in: ipconfig /flushdns
Hit Enter:
Wait for the response
Type EXIT to exit the command prompt
