Suggestions / Re: Banned Icon
« on: September 28, 2010, 04:20:50 pm »
You can make a Membergroup, naming it "Banned", give the group no permissions if you wish, and place users there manually. You can also use your own "rank image" as well - to display that picture (Or any you find or create).

These two guides should help:

How To Use Your Own Rank Images

Here you go:

Code: (Image Url) [Select]

To make your News "scroll" horizontally, go to Admin-Main > Edit News.

Place this code there in place of the news:

Quote
<marquee>Your News Here</marquee>

Replace the red text with your "News".

Suggestions / Few Suggestions
« on: September 25, 2010, 07:37:16 am »
The following are a few suggestions which I believe would ultimately benefit the Forum Community:

- Ability to park on Subdomains (ex. 'forum.yourdomainname.com' or 'yourdomainname.com/forum')
- Updated MX Records so Emails from purchased domains can work (ex. 'webmaster @yourdomainname.com')
- EzBlocks able to be shown only on certain areas again (ex. 'calendar')
- Advanced Permissions (for specific permission granting)
- Ability for users to "upload" or "place" games onto their arcade (under paid subscriptions)
- Option which allows users to post on a specific topic (or 'Forum'), and only selected membergroups would be able to see the content of their post(s)

Out of curiosity, will the ezblock error be fixed or will it stay like this where we can't choose to put an ezblock on a certain action?

Mmm for some reason no ezblocks show up anymore if you only specify a certain visible action-location, thought it was only the html block.  ???

General Support / Re: How do i set my own custom default Theme

@Fate: They said they can't see the listings in the drop down box.

CSMajor said he can only see the smf core default. The SMF Default - Core isn't a style option, it is a theme option. He most likely went under Themes and Layout settings since the Default Core is in fact the only option.

Go to Admin > Manage Styles. Under the "Main" tab, select the drop down box under "Style Picker:". Once you selected the desired style, press the button next to it labeled "Pick Forum Style".

Mmm.

Go to their profile then to their "Account Related Settings". Where it says "Primary Membergroups", select the dropdown box and select the membergroup you want them to be in. After doing so click the "Change Profile" button towards the bottom right (do not enter text in any field).

Alright. :) I'm not really worried about the joining/registering; just about the blocks not showing up on any of the visible actions.

Checked to make sure it wasn't just my computer/browser having this problem with the visible actions.
Will this be updated soon? Or is it more complicated to patch than I view it as.  ???

Graphics / Re: i need a graphic please....

You would have to do it manually for each member of your "Admin Team".

Go to one of their profiles, Select "Forum Profile Information" under "Modify Profile".

Select "I have my own pic" and put the Image url there.

Now select the "Change Profile" button and repeat for the other members of your "Admin Team".

Where do you want to put the graphic?

Ahh, yes that will help a bit against them.

Thanks for your time, SMF. ;)

*Update: It appears that all "html" ezblocks that are set to be shown only on selected "Visible Actions" do not appear there.*

http://ForumURLHere.smfforfreeX.com/index.php?action=join

I can provide a forum url as an example if needed.

To clarify what I mean:

For exmple: When you make an ezblock and update the visibility settings - and you have everything unchecked Except for "Register" since you only want the block to appear during registration. When you save and go to register, the block doesn't appear. The link to which action the block should be visible needs to be updated from "action=register" to "action=join" so it appears there. (Hopefully that makes sense)

I've noticed the url for registering on a forum has been updated from "?action=join" to "?action=join".

Just as some quick info for SMFForFree:
The ezblocks have to be updates since if you have a block to only appear during registration, it currently will not appear until the quick update is made.

Thanks. ;)

*Updated Topic Name*
*Updated Details: When you wish to make an ezblock visible Only in during certain visible action, such as the "Calendar" or during "Registration", the ezblock does not appear.*
