Hello members of SMFForFree, I would like to personally invite you to my brand new game reviewing forum. We are going to me focusing on reviewing PC games, and could do Wii games, Xbox360 games, and Playstation games in the future. We will be reviewing shooters, arcade, RPG, and much more! We have a wide selection of games from our head reviewers that we will be showing to you. Our reviews consist of a commentary video review as well as a written review and even more! Come join now! We promise you, you will have fun at out site. Make sure to tell all of your friends so we can grow and make our community even stronger and fun for all.

Guides and Tutorials / [Guide]How to ''Delete'' Your Forum/How To Do ''Maintenance Mode''

I've seen a lot of questions about this and I searched for a guide like this and couldn't find anything, sorry if there is a guide.

Anyway.
For people who ask, there is no way to delete your forum.
But, you can set it to Maintenance Mode and it will be cleared away after it becomes too inactive and SMF removes it.(This is what I have been told, correct me if I'm wrong.I've done this before and It's been recommended by everyone that has been asked.)

In order to set it to Maintenance Mode,Go to Admin CP > Forum Settings, You must go to Forum Settings, not the maintenance section in the control panel.
If you do not know where that is, here is a picture.


Once you click on it, you should get something like this.


From there, Check ''Maintenance Mode?''
Type in whatever you want in the ''Subject For Display'' and ''message for display''

Once everything is done, it should look like this.



If you want to delete your forum, you must leave it alone and not login or go to it.It should be removed sooner or later.

Okay, I've seen some forums with a tab named ''IRC'' or "chat'', and when you click on that tab, you'd have a window open/be redirected to a irc room.Not the network, but directly to the room.
I was wondering how do I do this. If anyone knows, it'd help. I know how to create and manage IRCs but if you have any free good ones, It would be great if you shared with me.

EDIT:I already know about mIRC..and all of the ones that cost money..so yeah..please don't tell me about those.

SMF For Free Codes and Support / Force Registration?

Is there a code or a way to force guests to register, like as soon as they get on the forum, they'll have to register or login?
I've seen this with forumotion forums(Not advertising) and I was wondering if we could do it here.

How do you get rid of bots?I usually have 2 guests and they jsut stay there at the home page.Heres a screenie.The one viewing the board is not a bot.
