Looks like I made a major mistake on my spam cleaning script.

Yes all posts are gone as of right now...
Any posts made 9/30 are gone for good.

Please can you explain what 9/30 means in this sentence? Do you mean this was the date of the latest backup so posts after this date are gone, but ones earlier can be restored?

Just logged onto our smf forum and see that all of our posts have vanished. Forum has been operational for about 6 years and we had over 100k posts!

Any idea what caused this and can we please get them back? I have never seen this happen before.

EDIT: stiil says " 130037 Posts in 9856 Topics by 582 Members", but every board says "0 Posts   0 Topics"

Edit: Solved issue. New button added on admin panel > EzPortal settings: "Disable ezPortal for mobile devices based on user agent". Seems it was ticked by default in new update.

Thanks,

It still times out for both me and other users giving no error messages. So far no-one has managed to login. I cleared browser cache and the following error appeared.

"Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SMFForFree2\Sources\Load.php on line 2205"

Thanks for working on this SMFForFree.

The forum is there, but still not running correctly. It's regularly timing out and when I do get through to login:

Database Error
Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator.

Like some of the others, my forum has also gone.

It was a very active forum for years. I can't remember the exact total post count but i'm sure it was over 100,000. I alone had nearly 4,000.

Can we get it back online please?

Sorry for thread hijacking, but I'm having problems updating the custom domain to my forum too.

Custom domain: www.elite-terran-force.tk
SMF address: http://taurialliance.smfforfree2.com

Whenever I try to update the nameserver address to 96.31.86.150, I just get "error" on my domain management page. The DNS update was over 24 hours ago so it should work fine now I think. Any help would be appreciated.
Your nameservers are still wrong check this report
http://www.intodns.com/elite-terran-force.tk

If you can't change I would contact your domain registration company for support.

Thanks, no matter what I try I can't get them to update. Using ns1.smfforfree2.com doesn't work either. Is there a different DNS server name I can use? Or alternatively is there a way to remove the custom domain so the forum is fully functional with the SMF address? I can't get into the admin panel to do it.

Perhaps there was some form of bug that allowed me to do it... because I definitely managed it this august. i'll try to get hold of the original admin see what he says.

Thanks for the help.

It was during the first week of august 2009 that the forums were rearranged and that would have been when the root admins account access was revoked. Not 100% sure how I removed him from the admin membergroup. I think I just did it as normal via the membergroups section of the admin panel, and it worked. To remove him from the other membergroups though I actually deleted the membergroups themselves then re-created new ones. The person in question who uses the account took a bit of a break from the forums but keeps popping up again now so i'd like to give him some access again, but he doesn't need admin access (not a problem if he does have admin access restored though).

Hope that gives you a bit more detail.

I have a very odd problem with my SMFforfree forum. We have been operating this forum for some time and it only affects one particular user account, which is user ID number 1 (the orignal forum admin).

Basically, a while ago I removed that user from the administrator membergroup and every other membergroup (as the membergroup assignments on the forum were changing). Now I am unable to re-assign that account into any membergroup, including the adminstrator membergroup. When I attempt to assign a usergroup, it goes to the next screen as normal, flags up no error message but the account remains without any membergroup assigned.

Any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it? I would very much like to be have this user as part of our community still.

EDIT: maybe I have posted this in bugs?
