General Support / New link adverts ?

Hi. Ive noticed 2day new adverts have been added to SMF by the way of linking words on the forums.

I was wondering is there any way to prehaps limit them or change what they advertise as most of the ones on mine seem to be for Online Gambling which isnt very appropriate for a website aimed at the younger audience.

Im not totally sure but i believe 1 credit will remove the ads from one page of your forum so 50,000 will give u twice as many ad free pages as the 25,000

Please correct me if im wrong

The only way you could do that is to have a real domain with that page on and a link to the forums on the page.

General Chat / Re: How are some of these forums SO popular?
« on: July 23, 2008, 02:40:23 pm »
Also no offence to SMF and the service we get here but you cant expect to get a popular forum if its just on a .smfforfree4.com domain and nothing else.

Get some cheap hosting and create a homepage for your website. It will draw in lots more people if you have your own domain and a good looking website.

Ive got one and now im even considering setting up my own forum on my hosting which then removes all the limits etc and u can customise even more.
