Guides and Tutorials / [Guide] 9 Steps How to have a successful forum
« on: June 01, 2011, 10:17:19 am »
Step 1: Make it look neat, No body wants to see an ugly forum with stupid backrounds

Step 2: Make it unique, Most forums have the same boards as other forums, try to make up your own!

Step 3: Dont make the first person to join staff. Most people would offer the first person to join gets staff causing lots of people to join, but everyone will quit since they are not staff

Step 4: Dont put a donate button up until your forum is successful enough and ask your members would they like to get you a good domain

Step 5: Dont have to many staff, As I explained in step 3 don't make the first person staff, But don't have to many staff either.

Step 6: Advertise!: their is lots of websites were you can advertise such as here googe, yahoo and much more advertising will get you much more people

Step 7: Make forums on what most people like, No one will join a forum if the base of it is someonething they do not like, do something  people want.

Step 8: Have forum games, Everybody loves forum games as a board but make sure their is no post count or you will have post whores.

Step 9: Have an Arcade,Most people love arcades because they are so fun but try and get your own games aswell

Guides and Tutorials / [Guide] How to make Text move
« on: June 01, 2011, 10:04:48 am »
Guys I am not sure wether this has been done or not so am I gonna do it to help you guys  8)

Basically this is HTML so the codes will go before the text that you have entered

Code: [Select]
<MARQUEE BEHAVIOR=SCROLL> that will make your text scroll across the screen

Now if you want it to go back and forth you use this code

Code: [Select]
<MARQUEE BEHAVIOR=ALTERNATE>
NOTE:

The html marquee code can be used in the header, footer, portal block area of your forum.
It will only work in a forum post if posted by you, the Administrator , using the html tags:

Code: [Select]
[html]
place marquee code here
[/html]

Credits:
50% Credits to my friend Rob who helped me learn this type of coding
50% To me for doing the coding and posting it

Thanks guys and I hope this Helped

Note to Administrators/Moderators

I am not sure wether this has been posted before I am only trying to help so if it has please do not delete this topic or blame it on me

Thanks everyone ;)
