First of all you should know that people love Activity's and Love to Get to know Who's Website there going on.
Second off you should maintain activity by doing weekly gaming activity's And Switching up your forum Style Every now and then.
What People don't like, This is mainly what people hate in forums if you go around posting your forum every where it gets kind of annoying, people usually like kick back relaxed Owners who know what their doing.
Yes, youve probably just made your website and their are no new posts from any one besides you. The first thing people look at is forum posts to see if there is a lot of activity on the Forums don't worry thats where you come in you can keep members active if your active! Thats the main key that people love to see! If your not active that means that nothing is getting done. But of course you can always get staff but keep in mind to much staff does not look good on a forum!

Try not to put so much ad's on your forum it gets anoying when you accidently click on it and takes you to another page. Also many people do not like flashing Logo's on a site it hurts the eyes and draws attention away from the point you are trying to get at.
Another worst thing to add to your site is a playlist that automatically plays. Some veiwers of your web site may be listening to something different and all of the sudden another music starts playing. Sorry for the bad Gramar by the Way.
Keeping a well maintain and organized forum is good for activity if you have boards scrambled everwhere it doesn't turn out to look so good. Thats why you should switch up your forums look every now and then.
