I feel dumb but I've looked and don't see any ability to restore a post I accidentally removed (yes, even with the ask override, sigh).
Is there such a thing?

and sorry I think it should have posted in the support forum, but wound up here....

Only if you have created a recycle bin.
Under Admin -> Board -> Settings
"Board for recycled topics"
