On my SMF i don't have this BBCode WYSIWYG editor.  The way people talk about it it's like you don't have to install it backend. 



What's the deal? How do I get it?!

Hi Fred.    I take it by the red arrow in your post that this button is missing? 

If that is the case:
Go to Admin > Posts and Topics > Bulletin Board Code
Check this:  Enable bulletin board code (BBC)
Under Enabled BBC tags:   Make sure "img" is checkmarked.

If they are all missing:

Go to Admin > Posts and Topics > Bulletin Board Code
Check this:  Enable bulletin board code (BBC)
Under Enabled BBC tags:   Make sure the tags are checked.  Click Save.

you can have them hosted by you guys? how much is that?  can you use an alias to display a different url structure?

SMF for Free is a free forum hosting service.  We provide forums using the simplemachines software.
All modifications and upgrades are done by the service, are not something you can do yourself.  Its more for those that do not want the hassle and the cost involved with a self hosted forum.   Info here:  http://smfforfree.com/
