ummm, i dono the size but banners dont look good when there big..try tokeepit nomale size banner!

It gets tricky figuring that out (if you want the banner the same width as the forum) because people have different montor sizes, different resolution settings.   If you use 1024x768 for instance and you make it look like its the same width for YOU and your settings -  someone using a widescreen monitor and resolutin of say 1440x900 will see it very differently.   The banner will look much smaller and narrower then the forum for instance.

If the forums css has set it to a specific width then make the width of the banner THAT width and that can usually solve that problem.
