Okay, thank you! I've also read on the www.smf4free.com that there is an "Easy to use style editor to customize your forum." How can I access this?

Hey,

This can be accessed as follows:
Admin>CP>Configuration>Manage Styles.

You can add new styles here or edit existing ones, along with changing your custom images, and editing your headers and footers. If you would like to take a look at what styles others have posted at support, take a look at these:

Stylesheet Index

Holiday Stylesheets

Thanks again, guys! Now, I have one last question. I have a shoutbox on my forum (only logged in users can see it), and I've placed it on the right side of the forum using the ezBlock Manager. It looks decent, but I would like to be able to move it somewhere other than on the Left, Center, Right, Top, and Bottom columns. Is there a feature that gives me more flexibility so that I can move my shoutbox somewhere in the middle of each column or in my own, preferred spot?

Well, you could add another block on top of them, pushing them down further, but for shifting position in the forum, I am not sure of what exactly you want. Are you looking to have it on a separate page? Or on a specific board?

I want the shoutbox to appear on the left side of the forum at all times. I want it to be out of the way, though, so that it doesn't interfere with normal activity. An example of how I want my shoutbox can be found here: http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php

I don't want the exact thing, but I'd like something similar. Using the ezBlock Manager, I cannot line up my shoutbox that nicely.

Well, as of now, I see your box is on the right hand side. It is not however the shout box from EzPortal. Have you seen the EZPortal Guide?

We have an option with the EzPortal to use the EzPortal shout box, and to have it align left, and be visible on all boards and forum actions.

It is currently enabled on my test forum, http://alexp.smfforfree3.com/

Is this what you were looking for?

If you are talking about the alignment of the side block and that it is higher then the forum is, there isnt anything you can do about that.

I want to use my own shoutbox, so I'd rather not use the EzPortal one. However, your example has helped me realize that my shoutbox actually does not look that bad. Thanks a lot for all of your help!

Oh, I see. Yeah, that's what was making it look pretty strange in the first place. I've decided to add a "Recent Posts" EzBlock under it so that it will look better, and it certainly does!

Thank you everyone for all of your help! You really did help me out!

What i'd do (myself) is to put a bunch of great codes on.
If you dont know how to do it, give me a admin account on it, I can put some codes on, and also try and get youu a EzPortal on, with news and things, recent posts, top poster and things like that. I can make it look like a "un-created version of SMF"!

We ask that helpers do not ask for Administrative access and advise members not to give Admin access to anyone on their forums.    Support should be giving information that teaches someone how to do it themselves as they are the ones who have to maintain the forum, and need to learn how to do so.

thanks.
