virus threat

I have had a forum with SMF for two years. I have never had a problem but really we are just a small group of housewives and friends who meet so we have never added anything to the forum. The problem is we cannot access the site through the PC as AVG has blocked access due to the site having a threat called Exploit lFrame Launcher Script. I can still access the site through my imac. Obviously we would like our site back. Now I am not technically minded at all so I would need simple instructions. I think our version is SMF 1.1

btw, we have not had any new members or chat boxes etc. I have no idea how this threat is on the site. We only have 8 members

Sorry, when you said "I think our version is SMF 1.1" I thought you were referring to the version that you download and host yourself (as many people who come here for help do)

All forums on smfforfree are SMF 1.1 ;)

Have you tried going to another SMF site? Try this one

do you still get a warning?

Maybe you don't have avg? It is the AVG active surf shield that is blocking access. bearing in mind one of the members had problems a few days before I did, maybe it takes time to infiltrate the pc? (I am not technical)

I am on my imac. I just tried to access your link through this site on my pc Seldon fail  and this site (SMF support) is blocked as well. It is not just me. It is all of my group is having this problem.
Yes I could inactive AVG but I would have thought getting to the bottom of the threat would be important.

Hmm. Ok.

This is something SMF will have to look at.

You don't have anything in your headers or footers...

Is there something someone posted that may have caused your anti-virus to go crazy?

Very unlikely. We are just a very small group of friends who meet at this forum. We only post messages, have never added any mods to the site, don't post photos or anything else really. Just messages. So will someone come and look into it for me? Do I need to keep checking back here? Do they read this site? What shall I do?

I hope my imac is not getting infected by coming in here

I would check back to this thread often.

Macs very rarely get infected. There aren't any major viruses that I know of that can get to a mac. Only a FEW trojans. So you're safe there ;)

Looking at the warning you got from AVG, it looks like it has to do with the ads system.

AVG had an issue a few days ago where a lot of domains were incorrectly marked. This issue has been fixed now. There was no virus on the forums or SMF For Free websites though.

This was an issue with AVG - not the ads or SMF For Free. If the issue keeps happening though we can try to help you here though.
