A number of members on my forum are reporting that these buttons are not working on all posts. The problem seems to be the first and second posts in any thread. In other posts the buttons work fine, but with those first replies the mouse doesn't change and so these posts cannot be quoted or edited. It's as if there is no link there, though the link can be seen. It's been for a day or so now.

That is already enabled. Has been for as long as the forum has been open. Even so, the problem isn't on new replies. Take this thread as an example. On my forum, I would not be able to quote (or as admin any form of edit) your post which is the first reply in the thread. I can do it for every other post in a topic, just not that first reply. The members, if they want to quote from that post, also cannot do it. It doesn't happen for any other post in any threads, but always the first reply in every thread. For two days. No problems before that.
