Legend,   that is something SMF takes care of.   You cannot upgrade it yourself.

it isn't out yet  :)
I'll rephrase...    it is something SMF will take care of WHEN the next version is Gold  (out)

:)

edit:   answering next question before it is asked  lol    We do not know exactly when that will be.

1.1 isn't out, you're right. 1.1 RC2? (or is it RC3) is out. Which is like a BETA version.

How not?
It's just a release canditate. So people can find bugs. ;)
Or just to put the version out there.

Well yes. But many forums would have RC1 which is riddled with bugs. So they take all the bug reports and fix them and send out RC2. All the RC1 forums upgrade to RC2 for th time being to fix all the bugs...then bugs are found in RC2, and so on.

Alot of companys release Beta versions of programs.   Gives them a large test pool of people to try the program, report the bugs to them.
For awhile now they have released Betas and THEN an RC   (Release Candidate)     for example:   IE  7 Beta 1,  IE 7 Beta 2,   IE 7 RC 1
When you see RC it  "normally" means they are geting closer to a release date  (not always the case)

edit:  instead of "normally" means I really should say  "you can pretty much figure"   as we do alot of times wind up seeing RC 1 , 2 , 3 etc
