Theme settings
« on: November 04, 2006, 03:33:38 am »
Please excuse my ignorance, I am new at this.

I have just registered and I am trying to set up an image for my page header to see how it fits, but it won't save, I don't know what I am doing wrong.  :'(
I am currently in Maintenance Mode.

The image is at http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/stevena5/nzmusicheader/nzmusicheader.index.html

Forum is at http://nzmusic60s70s.smfforfree.com

Can someone please give me some direction.

Thanks.

First off that's someone else's image isn't it? Make sure you ask permission from the person who made that image that you can have it
Then goto www.photobucket.com, sign up for an account there. Then login to Photobucket, upload those images onto photobucket and Photobucket will give you a URL for each image to use.

Then place this code in your header:
Code: [Select]
<img src="URL OF FIRST IMAGE"><img src="URL OF SECOND IMAGE"><img src="URL OF THIRD IMAGE"><IMG SRC="URL OF FOURTH IMAGE"> Replace the capitals in the code with each URL.

Thanks very much for your help.  :)

Yes they are someone elses images and I have got permisison to use them as long as I acknowledge where they came from, which I will do.

No problem, and that's great.
Enjoy!

I can't seem to get one of the images to come up and I get this also, " alt="New Zealand Music - The 60's and 70's - Index" /> have I missed something ?

What do you mean you "get this also"

I can tell you that the alt part is just part of the img tag. It just adds alternate text. (however over a typical image on this website, you'll see the Alt text.

<img src="URL OF FIRST IMAGE"><img src="URL OF SECOND IMAGE"><img src="URL OF THIRD IMAGE"><IMG SRC="URL OF FOURTH IMAGE"> Replace the capitals in the code with each URL.

When I used the code I noticed that the first image only doesn't show, the rest are fine, any ideas. ?

I do have another image loaded, so there is no problem, just curious in case I want to change it.

Thanks.

Where are you putting the code may I ask? Do you have the images up right now? (Or at least the code?)

If you do you can give me the URL to our forum and I can take a look at the whole code.

One more question, how do I get the Arcade random game panel and the Recent pictures panel to show on the "Home" page.

Thanks.
