It's possible but not probable.

Domain pings to grab a database?  ;D

Yeah, I doubt it.
I also think SMF would have found out by now.
Feel free to PM me or email me. ;)

I know you can't domain ping a database, but what he saying I don't know wether it should be taken seriously or not.

One of those "can I join this forum without worry of being hacked by losing personal data to this guy" questions.

I personally for one don't worry about all that stuff. All those scapes I see people have on this service, claim to know how to hack and "infest you computer with Trojans"...remotely. Come on, seriously?

Its possible (in theory, I think...) to remotely hack someone, but normally there just hollow threats. I really wouldn't know, but doubt its true. SMF For Free would probably have dealt with it, if it was possible.

I'm just gonna quite Crasy, and than leave.

Yeah, some are hosted on the same.
There other servers involved in the server too...like image servers and database servers. Fun stuff. And more servers acting as firewalls.

Weehaw.

Would you seriously join a forum administrated by someone like that?

No, I wouldn't I just came across the site looking around, I'm not a part of that forum nor will I be.

Hilariously stupid, laughable lie.

There is no exploit in SMF that allows this to happen.
And even if there was an exploit in SMF that would allow this to happen this service is secured to a degree better than the SMF software.
