How come every time I sign up for a free forum, it redirects me to CreateAForum? Did somebody buy SMF for Free or what?

SMF For Free no longer has signups. Create A Forum is the new version.

But is Create A Forum, the same as SMF for Free? Because it sure doesn't look like it.

freesmfhosting.com registrations are still open so if anyone wants to create a forum based on the old SMF For Free version can do it there I think.
