SMF For Free Support Forum

Ok, I am in no way capable of probably either understanding or doing what any of you might be able to tell me, so dumbing things down is extremely acceptable

I've simply been asked to snoop around by the head admin and any help you can give me to relay to him would be greatly appriciated.

Anyway, the site I actively participate in: http://www.realmsofhyrule.com/site/index.html is for some reason getting an error message when trying to log onto the forums:

Error Message:

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

Now, having no programming experience to speak of, I have absolutely no idea what is wrong or even how to fix it for that matter. The same is true for the admins, (only they have alot more experience than I and if they had the correct information they would be more than able to do so) but the fact remains, that the way to fix the problem eludes them.

The site has been down for a full day now and despite hard work and effort from the admins, they've come up with nothing.

So I say again, your help would be greatly appriciated.

There is no SMF For Free forum on that site.

Please use www.simplemachines.org for help.
I believe there is a file somewhere in the Admin fiels for configuring connection to the database. Check the passwords/usernames and other bit of info in that file to ensure that the forum has the correct information to even connect to the database.
