I have a question regarding the chat application
We are a couple of hundred guys that play an online game.. called The West
We have Fort Battles .. which are generally the Attackers and the Defenders
We normally use Chatango to communicate amongst ourselves.. but can't stop spies

What I want to know is.. with the Ajax Chat app in SMF.. can we limit who can chat
Say I get them to register on my forum in their alliances... then the alliance gets put into membership groups by me

*** Will the one group be able to be blocked from communication or viewing the channel of the other ?

*** What really are the channels in the Application ? Are they from our Chat in the Forum.. or are they from all of SMF forums?

There is no option to limit users.
 
As far as only letting certain people in - there is an option in permissions to let a membergroup access the chat.
 
The channels in the chat are the boards on your forum.

So the people who will be able to access the chat channel.. can only do so if the have access to the relevant board (channel)?
