site is soooooo slow

my site has been running really slow for a few days  its annoying and at times ive got a plaine white screen when im trying to do something even though at the bottom the page is saying done.

Is there something wrong with my site?  :-\

iv cleared everything on my pc, so i know its not that but a few other members have also complained.

Sometimes this can happen, the servers can get very busy sometimes.  It will fix itself in abit.  :)

Mine is doing this too and has been doing it for a few days, it has been awful today and I can't even get on it now.

Seems to only be happening on server 2
Forums on server 1 (upgraded and not upgraded) are loading fine

Will have to be patient, hope it sorts itself out, and if not wait for SMF to take care of it.

GOOD TO HEAR...it's not my PC or my Cable Company but hard to use when it runs this slow. Has anyone any idea why our boards are running soooo sloooooow?   I don't have it opened to the public yet so it's not a major deal for me right now.  I just need to get in there and finish adding the finishing touches, so I can open it.

I have another site on another free host and that board has been down now for over 14 hours.  ::)  Can't even ask when they might have the boards up....they have an over zealous moderator who locked all the topics about the boards being offline and now all we can do is sit and wait.

I sure hope that don't happen in here. (over zealous moderators)

No intentions of locking this topic anyways, if we lock it it won't make the problem go away ;)

For now I can try to offer a couple ways to help out and put a smaller load on your forums.
-You could split up extremely large(over 1000 replies) into smaller topics.
-Try to use smaller images on your forums to keep them from being slowed down by those. At least try to keep your banner below 40kb and maybe impose some avatar size limits

Ugh.. we try not to be that way here ;)       Not sure what is up with the servers.  As Moderators we really have no way of knowing and can only guess , as any of you can.

I'm having this problem as well.  Surely something can be done to speed up the server?  Is it not possible to contact SMF directly and ask for something to be done about this?
