 with the forum moving servers could some one please explain , when it happens what i have to
 I am ""rather "" thick when it comes to these things :-\ and my members are asking me all sorts!

you don't have to do anything, just tell them to not worry if the forum is not available. It could take up to 48 hours but at the end, you won't be able to tell anything happened (except maybe we will not be having the problems with slow loading pages like we have been!)

Bolero, I have been through this before and other than not being able to get on your forum for a period of time, you will not notice anything.  It looks like you don't have a custom Domain, so this will be a piece of cake for you.

Don't fret and tell your members if they can't get on your forum to not panic.  Your forum will be back as soon as everything is updater.

The worst part is the wait once he started to move your forum.  SMF knows what he is doing and any problems he will fix ASAP.

 A lot of them panic if they can,t get on
 I tell them that sometimes we have hiccups , but it makes no difference  ;D ::)

Yeah for most people you don't have to do anything. Just some downtime when things are transferred over.

I have a custom domain at wiiunite.org

However, when I set it up, I had issues getting it to work and I am pretty sure I just parked the forum there.  Could someone please tell me if I will need to update anything with my domain?

SMF is changing servers for better performance, hardware, and space.

The move will take place this week probably starting today as stated in SMF For Free's latest announcement:

Correct, but the move shouldn't take that long to do. Last downtime was just over a day and that's because he was halted alot to fix other stuff and he could not focus on just the move.

Been through several server moves with SMF and even with a custom domain once, and all went smoother than I could have imagined.  There is no sense getting scared or worked up about this, it is an every day thing that happens with lots of web sites.  SMF is a very smart cookie, he knows what he is doing and if a problem comes up, he is there to fix immediately.  That is just one of the main reasons I have stayed with SMF forever.   :smitten:
