Hi. Just a quick question. If someone tries to access my forum when the transfer is happening will they get a message about it or just cant find the webpage ?

I think there will be a white page with a notice saying the server move is in progress.   Something to that effect.

Since this is scheduled downtime you have time to send an announcement to your members to advise them that you are gonna be off the air.   I have already done so to my members and posted another announcement on the portal.  You do what you can do and hope everyone reads it.

Is there anyway to send a mass email to users about it to ensure they get it ?

Make an Announcement topic on your forum.  Click on the Additonal Options link and click on Announce Topic. It will give you a place to checkmark all the membergroups you want it to email a message to with the announcement you typed up.  

Other things you can do:
Put something in your news.
If you are using the Portal make an html block and put something there.

You could set up all your members e-mail addresses in your e-mail contact list and send it that way.  There is no way to do that through the forum itself.

Can't you make a post, and under additional options, select Announce? Won't that send the announced topic to the membergroups you choose?

I also have announced the topic, but I have yet to receive the announcement in my own email.
