SMF For Free 4 is still being updated. Changing the nameserver isn't recommended until the update is complete.

There has been an issue during the move that resulted in a delay. Just one of those "electronics went boom" kind of errors. If you change the nameserver now you will likely have your users going to a server that is dead.

We'll tell ya when it's done.

I could have added even better onomatopoeia. SERVER WENT KABLAM KSHH.

Trying to access your forum doesn't slow anything down, no worries. The entire process is happening on computers separate than the pages you are accessing.
The backups for your forum is on one server.
The backups are going over to the new hardware(which is being fixed).
The site you are accessing is the old servers with nothing on them.

I've had those types of errors....I'm glad SMF backs up. My mod just rolled her eyes when I gave her the heads up on what is going on and walked away from the puter we are at, she really did not want to know  me thinks  :uglystupid2:

Will check back for updates to see when we can get back in. :) Am excited.

It's gonna be fine.  Those on Server 4 are gonna be pleased with what they have after everything settles down.

I exaggerate the extent of the problem.
During transfer a heavy load is placed on the servers hard drive...and as with any new electronics if bad things are going to happen they'll usually happen early. The electronics just died...Stick in a new, good hard drive and she'll be running like a race horse again.

The plan is not to add any new features during the move. The only changes being done during the move is changing the server.
Though, SMF For Free did return the spell check feature in light of the new hardware.

Maybe he was starting to go crazy before, when the forums kept crashing and going down. ;)
This new stuff is going to do great for the forums.

No real changes but lots of speed and smoother operation.  But remember it will take a couple of days to settle in.  Your sites may go up and down, especially the first 48 hours after its all completed.

Yup, just like installing a new hardrive in your computer yourself. It may take a bit to get things working right to work out the bugs if there are any. We just have remember to post them with kindness and wait patiently eh? *goes and looks for Sybils bug....* ::) :)
