It has been started and will be completed today. Placed a notice yesterday in the forums and the sites of the updated date.

While I understand that you needed to do this, was it necessary to tell us this was delayed till next week and then just post last night, doing it this morning? I realize you offer a service that is free of charge, but could we not of benefitted from a lil notice? We took the time and effort to notify members and reschedule activities when we were told upgrades would happen. Then we took the time to tell them it was delayed till next week. And now we get up in the morning to see it's done today. For me personally I had material that I would of needed to gather that was saved on the forum to work on.

Thanks so much for the work you do, but pls keep in mind that a lil more notice for a lengthy downtime would be highly appreciated.

Guess I misunderstood, and missed the updated message as well.

Last I read, it was postponed for a week or so. I could almost swear that the message on the forum had not changed to anything new as well. I just could swear it did not change to anything different......

Man, am I going to look like an idiot to my forum members..... :idiot2:

Notice was posted on all Server 4 forums yesterday.  Announcement was also updated.  I sympathize with you, I can't work on my Server4 forum either.  It should all be done and stabilized within 24 hours.

I can assure you that the msg was not updated when I went to bed last night .. but nonetheless it won't matter. I'm sure I'm not the only one who strongly feels that a lil notice would of been the considerate thing to do, particularly after notifying us that it would happen next week. Some of us do need to sleep.

Trust me, you are going to like it when it's done.  No PHP access violations, no more 4 hour downtime.  Runs fast and smooth.  My Server 2 is running nice after the move and I am looking forward to having my Server 4 work site as fast as my Server 2.

Thanks for the effort, but it's gone again. Would not have been enough time to give the notice as nobody would have time to read it..... ::)

So did SMF, which is one reason why it wasn't done over the weekend.  He had to stay up and monitor every step of the process and then go do adjustments afterwards.

I guess the point is moot. No will conceed that it would of been considerate to offer some notice rather than a last minute post.

I got my message about the upgrade early last night,
maybe you just didn't notice the change in the message
because you got used to the box being there.
I had plenty enough time to post it in several locations
on my Forum.

Well, not sure of the time difference, but I do see the notice here on this forum showing the above link updated late last night at about 10:00 pm.
