Server 2 Move Question

Good Morning.  Have the day off work today and thought I would drop by and see how everyone is doing.

I prefer to use a downloaded spell checker (PC) than a board spell checker.  I have found they do slow down the boards a tad.

I thought I would work on bringing my SMF2 board updated to re-open it (while waiting for SMF4 to be upgraded) but it is not accessible yet.  Are all the SMF2 boards completely moved?

This is what I am getting.  Tried to go into command prompt but didn't work.

Umm if you are trying to access it on server 2 and the cmd didnt work either try running the cmd as admin or you will have to wait for your PC to do it itself.

Try clearing your cache and see if it helps.

valadi -  have you changed the nameserver IP with your domain host to the new IP yet?
If not make sure to do so as the IP number is different now.    


edit:
Note:  If you have a forum on server 4 do not change the nameserver IP until told it is okay to do so.

Duh... I forgot about changing the name server. OK, my bad. :D  I'll go into it by way of SMF sub domain, since it's not open for use and when our other board is back up and running I'll change them both.

By the way sorry about the reply about the Spell Checker...my mind and fingers got it all messed up.   Seems to happen when you start to get old.  ;D

OH NO...I spoke to soon.  Can't get into Sore Joint Cafe by way of SMF subdomain either.  When I try to login it takes me to the white page with the above notice.  Could it be because I am in maintenance mode?

I cleared all my privacy traces hoping that would do it but it didn't.  Is there another way in?

Windows (versions from 2000 and up) caches the servers dns.
If you have not visited the site since the move you need to now wait for your computer to update the dns.
You can try flushing it manually (be aware it doesnt always work on all computers and will NOT work on Win98)

Start > Run >  type in cmd.exe
Click OK
Type in:    ipconfig /flushdns
Hit Enter:
Wait for the response
Type EXIT to exit the command prompt

Well.  I trie the command prompt again on both my computers and still not letting me in.  I show I am logged in (SJC) but can not access the topics or my Admin Panel.  Takes me right back to white page.  How do I get the name servers IP for server2,  so I can change it at my domain registrar?

smfforfree2.com      74.54.239.41

also keep in mind that it takes time for the dns to totally resolve on your computer
you could go back and forth tween seeing the forum, not seeing the forum at times until its totally resolved.

I have an extremely fast connectin most of the time lol
Yeah Ive noticed a huge speed difference on my forums since the move.   Havent found a problem either.   Super cool!

 8)  hope it stays that way, cause I am luv-ing it.

Enjoy your vacation.  You sure have earned it, twice over.  I hope to get one this year, since I went back to work after retiring.  Seems there is no rest for the wicked anymore.
