Check this page out for color codes, I use it a lot especially when I want to change font colors on the portal.  http://www.december.com/html/spec/color.html

You want to put <font color="#be1200"> in front of what you are writing and then
</font> after what you are writing.

The #be1200 is a color code and you can replace it with any of the html color codes.

Here's a good place to learn basic HTML for your portal and header/footers. Takes you step by step to learn.  Very beginner. http://gazoo.net/htmhell/

Somewhere in here Codes Index is a scrolling code I believe.

You can also check here:  http://cedesign.net/help2j.htm  He has a scrolling code that you can use to design with.

On Cedges page it is way down near the bottom.   Its called using a marquee.   You can see some text moving left to right or right to left in the boxes on his page where its located.

Or do a search around the net using Google for "marquee"   and look for someplace with good instructions for doing marquees.    With a marquee you can have it scroll things and you can set it to scroll in any direction you wish,  even UP, and at the speed you want it to be.

change the direction= to up and it will scroll up

change the number for the scrolling speed to make it go faster or slower.    (scrollamount)
play with that number to get it as you want it.

cool ...  the more you use some of those html tags the more you will remember them.   One day it'll feel easy to you, honestly  ;)
