Some of my members have reported to me that when they click on a topic to post, or go to the arcade to play a game, it forces them to login again and gives them a message similar to this: " you cant get into the arcade sorry! login or register!"
They have already been logged in but for some reason it makes them login again and its driving some of them to leave and not post. Can anyone help?

Did you change any of the cookie settings?
And do they have permission to view the arcade.

Yes they have full permissions, except administrative permissions and I am not aware of making any cookie changes because I just leave the more advanced setting alone.

I don't have this problem, and neither does one other member, and our similarities are that we both use FireFox, however all of the internet explorer users keep having to log in again. What can I do?

Since the change to the new domain name, it is virtually impossible for me to stay logged-in at the SMF-hosted message board I frequent, located here:

http://apokolips.x47.net/

My understanding is that the owners have not modified cookie requirements, or done any changes to the way the board is maintained.  The only thing that has changed is the domain name, and that's exactly when my problems started. The only way I can log-in and STAY logged in is to disable my firewall for the duration of my visit.  Otherwise when I log-in and get deposited at the main page, the minute I click on a section header I'm logged out.  I log in again, wind up back at the main page, and it starts over again.

I have cleaned my browser caches and adjusted settings to permit cookies from the new domain, and I've done the same thing with my firewall.  In addition to session cookies and persistant cookies, I gave permission to accept third-party cookies while surfing your domain....and it didn't make a bit of difference.

Today when I tried, I wasn't even allowed to log-in, with the firewall in place.  I am using EZ firewall, which comes with my cable modem service, and I consider using it a basic precaution.  I sent two separate emails to support at SMF on this issue, but haven't heard anything.  While I understand if you folks are busy with the domain changeover, the problem I'm experiencing is getting worse, not better.  I'd really appreciate some assistance.

Thank you.

Emails are not recieved and not processed if for support. The board owners need to look at their cookie settings to fix it. Users need to logout and then relogin after settings are changed.

I'm assuming that you are using Internet Explorer 7

Tools->Internet Options->Privacy

Set the cookie security lower

Well I stopped redirecting directly to the forums and made a homepage with the link on the homepage to the forums and now everything works smoothly. Thank you for pointing that out to me paradise bar.
