Profiles for Guests

Is there a way to hide the profiles of members from guests (lurkers)?  I have noticed that one guest stays at my site all the time, and I can see what he is doing, too.  I worry about the safety of the members.  I would like to hide their profiles completely.

One more thing....This "Guest" or Lurker's IP address is related to Google.  Is is a bot?  The only problem I have with that is that when I post a new topic, this lurker reads it.  It looks at profiles of posters.  Can a bot do that?  Why would someone with a Google IP address sit at my site all day reading this stuff?

You can use permissions to disable guests from looking at profiles.

Google is a bot that searchs your forums and helps other people find your forums.

Thank you so much!  After your post, I found how to set the permissions for Guests, and it never occurred to me until tonight that the Guest was a Google Bot!  I am learning, and you guys are so great at getting back to me.  Thanks!!!  :smitten:

Your forum will probably constantly have a couple guests. It's usually just Google/Yahoo/other search engines wandering around your site. No harm, just don't ban them. They'll be your biggest source of members when your forum grows. ;)

I have already disabled guests from being able to view profiles and yet this morning a guest was viewing MY profile.  I double checked persmissions and guests do not have permission to view any profiles.

So was this just a glitch?

Just checked..  cannot view profiles on your forum.
Your online thing may tell you someone is viewing it right now since I did click your name on the forum to check it.    I cant see it though.     (You could logout and check as a Guest to see how Guests see your board and what they can do)
