Problems with forum
« on: July 24, 2009, 02:37:20 am »
Forum Url: http://http://irishroadracers.smfforf.smfforfree.com
Recently, the sizing of my pages,(width wise) has changed, my header has remained the same but everything else has got wider, which now means that scrolling side to side is required to read postings, and more to the point!! to be able to view pictures that I have centered.

Have you done any editing to the style you are using?    I see no codes in your header/footer that should cause it.   Any codes in Board Descriptions?   Added anything to it lately?

Hi Sybil,

I did add an additional custom tab, but I have deleted this and the problem of sizing still exist, as I say the header was created to suit the origional width of the forum page, which means that some how the width of the page has increased.

I tried using your css/header info to see if I could re-create/track the issue -  couldnt recreate it.
Try using a different style  - see if the issue still exists.
If so -  delete the black style then reinstall it

naw.. the banner Mago is using is fine..  its much narrower then the forum is.

edit:   WAIT.. you werent referring to the banner image.   Mago if those images that are posted in your threads are huge it is going to make that part of the forum wider to compensate for the images being that wide.    Check a board that has NO images posted in it.

The banner is 945 pic wide, the size of the pics is 800 pics by 600 pics, this is the size that I have always used with no problems up until latley.

Sybil I tried your suggestions Re Changing styles with no luck.

Petrol Head, nice to see you on here. :) :) :)

Mago I just noticed it is happening on any board/topic even if there are no images in it.  Totally see what you are talking about.

Try the default theme and see if it does it with that.  If it still does then we need to look deeper into this.

Just figured it out

You have a Board in Announcements named:
Media Player-Click on the Link Below to Launch the Player - In the near future this will take you to Radio Irishroadracers.Com - Curently we are linked to allsouthernrock.com

Shorten the name of that Board.

What is happening is when you are inside boards the dropdown box at the bottom of the forum is having to be very wide to hold that name and its making the entire thing wide because of it

You have a few others that are abit long too - you may need to shorten them also.

;)
