Poll Configuration
« on: July 07, 2007, 02:03:10 pm »
Forum Url: http://pogoinslomo.smfforfree.com
I searched and looked high and low and did not find anything about this, so if there is I apologize for starting a new topic.  But,  isn't there a way for Polls to have where a voter can choose more than one option in the poll?  I checked in the Admin Panel and all I could find was the Inable/Disable Polls, and when we post a poll, there is no option for picking more than one.  Maybe I am missing something, so any information or help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank You.

When you set up the poll, Where it says "Poll Option", change that number to something other than a 1. Whatever number you put there is how many times that same person can vote, and they can vote a different answer each time.

Thank you so very much kimmie, I was blind.  lol   I looked for that when I set one up and it totally eluded me.  Maybe need to get some new glasses.  lol   But I notice that is not an option when you edit the poll.  Thank you so very much once again for coming to my rescue.  :smitten:

Kimmie, for some reason it's not working. I would take a screen shot, but I don't know how do thumbnails. Every poll I've had, I set it to vote 2 or 3 times, but it will only let (at least admin. I don't know about regular members) us vote 1 time.

ok just tested it out on both server 1 and 3, and it works on mine. When you set the poll up, the number I mentioned changing above? That number indicates how many selections they can choose when they vote, not how many times they can actually vote. (sorry, I was doing it from memory..lol).

Example:

If you set up a poll that asks them to choose their "Top 2 Favorite" items , put a "2" in that box, and it will allow them to select two items and then cast their vote. If you want them to choose 3 items, put a 3 in that box, etc, but they can only vote once. You CAN however, set the pole up to allow them to "Change" their vote. When setting ut up, select "Allow User To Change Vote". They will see a "Remove Vote" link. They can click on that, remove their vote, and then recast it.
