pages loading slowly for some members?
« on: April 09, 2008, 09:56:14 pm »
I dont know that this is anything you can help with, but I have a member in Canada that is saying that pages are taking a very long time to load and he gets frustrated and leaves....he is the only one having this problem, I have members in Australia, Vermont, Wyoming, etc and none of them are havin this problem, I suspect problems somewhere along the route to Canada but can anyone suggest something that might help him?

He could clean his cache, dump temporary files.  What kind of internet connection is he using?  If it's dial up and his isp doesn't offer a fast line it could take forever.

if LLs tips do not help him find out if this occurs everyplace he goes on the net.   If so her tips actually should help but also find out if he does normal maintenace on his computer.   Does he compact folders in his email program.   Does he defrag his hard drive, do disk cleanup.   Does he have a good virus and spyware scanner, keep them up to date.    There are many different issues that could cause a person to have problems with slowness on the net.   Sometimes its just their ISP/Cable company.    (even cable does go out or slow down at times)   or a faulty modem, router,  ethernet cable,  wrong type cable with his cable modem (needs to be RG-6, not RG-59 or you can get loss and slowdowns) the list goes on.

thanks ladies, I have told him I thought the problem is on his end but wanted to make sure. (this is the only site he seems to be having trouble with so I am guessing it is in the route somewhere between ya'll and Canada that the problem is occuring and there is nothing we can do about that... :P )

Appreciate the assistance.
