Manage Boards

Is there a way to lock a board?  For example,  I put a post titled "Forum Rules" and then lock the post, and also decide to lock that forum so that no new topics are posted there.

It's simple enough to lock a post, but can't figure out how to lock a forum or board so tht the 'New Topic' button doesn't show.  Please advise.

Adding onto what Kimmieb said,
Goto the board and edit the permissions of that board(next to modify)

Then choose all the groups that shouldn't be able to post a topic(by checking the check boxes) and chose Clear Permission(in the drop down) and choose Create A topic as the permission

Need a little more clarification please ..

In Manage Permission window there are 2 sets of checkboxes - one under title 'Access' and other by the side of 'Modify.'   Which set of checkboxes do I need to check?

Also .. I cannot find "Create a topic" at the drop down arrow of 'select permission' which has many options.  Or is it there under different title?  Please inform ..

It's modify.

And I probably didn't get the name right. Most of the stuff I post here is just from memory...I'll go get the exact title.

Edit: It's "Post New Topics"
