I read before that for a fee I the administrator could have control over what adds are placed on our boards and where.  First off, we are all UAW members, and Ford employees.  We don't want Toyota adds all over our headers, and absolutely no adds posted in our threads.  However I don't want to discontinue adds totally.  I would like to get paid for hosting Ford adds, to cover fees that SMF charges to have control over our add space.

Tell me what I have to do to accomplish my goal please! BTW this is becoming my favorite forum next to my own of coarse!  :smiley6600:

There is no way to control which adds are shown it is based on the content of a forum. So a car forum would car ads.

You could purchase ad free credits then add banners to Ford and other car makers in the header and footer of your forum.

Will this also stop the adds within the threads.  I had one member talking about not being able to find employment after leaving the company, and blam the next post was an add within the thread telling you how to make $5,000 a week working from home.

It was insulting, the man was telling about his plight and an add to a bs get rich quick scheme appears. I really felt bad for him, and had no control over the insult that was added to his injury!

Not to push my way to the front of the line but.

I am ready to purchase the add free credits if it will rectify my problems, but what are credits.  I imagine it is a unit of measure, but how long will the forum remain add free?

I really need to understand how the credits work so I can determine which package to buy.  I am also on a limited budget, based on my current level of incoming donations!

A credit is considered a page view. Each time a page is loaded a credit is used up.

Do my page views as the administrator count against me? In editing the forum, managing it and changing content I may reload the same page several times before I accomplish a given task! Better yet can I just have adds removed from the threads, I just changed the forum category from automobiles to cut the competitors adds. I just need the adds out of the threads!
