« on: March 30, 2006, 03:48:32 am »
Sorri I think I posted this in the wrong place already.
Can you tell me is the facility to send a mass e-mail by administrators available in this software and if so how do I do it.

Thanks in advance

On the free plans mass email is not an option. I had it before then it was abused.

Could there possibly be a mass PM option however?

OR a Global Announcement Option? I just want a way to easy reach all of my members at once

You can use announce a topic function which will send an email to all members.

Say I made a topic with a lone post that said:

HELLO

How would the announcement be worded in the e-mail to members?

Okay! Cool then....I'll have to get someone else to announce a topic to me and see what it says.

i am using the announce option.

but i only enabled that option to myself as the administrator because i want that no other member can use it or maybe abuse it.

what i announce are only those very important things.

when you announce, it sends an email to every member. the email contains a link to where the announcement was located (in  my case i placed all announcements in the Special Announcements board)

I dont like this option, because I have had too many members reply to that e-mail.  It kinda makes members too lazy to log in, lol.  WhatI do now is a mass PM, just use the * to see all members and add one by one, a REAL pain in the butt, but at least it makes the members log in to see their msgs.  I too, would like to see a code or this option added back and have it so that only admin can use this option, so its not "abused".  I for one, would not like to pay for others mistakes, lol...I will be good, I promise!!!!
