Hum, it has to be one of the features of this board. I tried another thing after disabling automatical links and the embedded video still showed up

heard back from SMF.  There is a mod installed on that server that makes it embed  flash videos into posts.
Ill have to see if I can find a way to post them as a link.     Maybe try doing  the "url" tags with it and see if that will work ?

nevermind... I tried the url tags.  THat is not stopping it.   
Ive set automatic linking and embed flash to OFF and it still posts the video.
erm.. Im stuck

i meant i still have embedded videos even if i disabled automatical linking and used tags instead.

julita..   I misunderstood you  ;)    oops      When you said "Thats the trick" and it didnt work I "thought" you meant it didnt show the video  lol

I have no idea how to stop it from auto playing now.   That mod seems to force it to play.    You could always put a space after the http in the links so it wont do it.    (a little annoying for those copying the links) but at the moment its all I got, sorry.

well, i just posted a message in the admin section of my board to tell people that i disabled links and that if they want to check on something, they gotta copy paste the link and put it in their address bar. i also told them i managed to edit my old server settings so my domain is now linking to my new board  :D

well, this seems to definitely account for what is going on w/ my forums. and i think i can do the same (disabling the links) if it becomes troublesome to our site by slowing it down. this was puzzling eh? lol!
