Hi, I've been thinking of various ways to make it convenient for a usergroup to not have to visit a forum just to look for updates on a certain board.
e.g.
Say there is a usergroup called Committee.
There is a board called "Committee Discussion" (it's private and can only be viewed by that usergroup).
Everyone in the usergroup has selected an option which sends notifications to their e-mail addresses when the board is updated.
Someone on the committee has started a new topic in this board.
This update is sent out to the committee e-mail addresses, preferably with the name and content of the topic too.
If they wish to reply they would follow the topic link in the e-mail address.
Is this possible? Or am I asking too much lol. ;D
Thank you in advance!

You aren't asking too much .. it already works that way.
Settings for notifications are in your Profile > Notifications and Email
You can also click the "Notify" tab at the top of any Board Index to get notifications for all topics in that Board, or click on the "Notify" tab at the top of any Topic to get notifications for that topic.
Permission to receive notifications can be set by Membergroups. (Admin>Permissions)
Both options are enabled by default. ( "Request notification on replies" and "Request notification on new topics" )

Actually there is something that I'm still curious about - is it possible to edit the notification e-mail somehow? I was hoping it would include the content but as it stands it only notifies the name of the topic.

In your Profile under Notifications and Email checkmark this:
When sending notification of a reply to a topic, send the post in the email (but please don't reply to these emails.)
Also in Admin > Features and Options
Make sure this option is not checked: Don't allow post text in notifications?
