Your image links show as red x's here  (you are trying to hotlink them from runescape.com)  please do not do that - you are using THIER bandwith (not to mention their images).

1.  I am not clear on what you are trying to do

I would advise that you ask the RuneScape Administrators if you can use their images... then maybe Sib can help you (just taking a guess). If the Admins (meaning the person who owns the site) say you can then it will be perfectly legal.

Or put a copyright notice at the bottom of your forum saying they are from <so and so>?

Just a point of information:
If a website says that you are not allowed to use their copyrited images  - taking them, using them anyways and putting a copyrite notice on your site saying they are copyrited to them does not make it legal.     No, generally means No.   "But I gave you credit"  does not cover your butt.
